update 30th June 2009

During the past three weekends considerable progress has been made with a variety of tasks as part of the intermediate overhaul.

Weekend of 14th and 15th June

With the front bogie removed, support crew carry out the task of cleaning frames and wheel sets before stripping down

Front bogie is dismantled for wheels to be turned by Ian Riley Engineering Limited

Front bogie frames loaded and ready for steam cleaning

Weekend of 21st and 22nd June

Work on the centre cylinder is carried out and piston removed

Weekend of 28th and 29th June

Front bogie frames taken down to bare metal prior to repainting and replacement of loose rivets

Membership Secretary Chris Hazzleton cleans front bogie wheelsets after wheels have been turned
